I’ve been using sonar , ahci and XP and they all play together quite nicely. I guess I need to look more carefully and see if there is one specifically. No matter what option I chose it didn’t work. I tried searching for ACHI here on the forum and it seemed like the search function was not working or maybe it’s just never come up before. Use NTLite to create an installer image with the appropriate drivers slipstreamed in. Follow advice at your own risk.

I’ve done more research regarding the drivers it did show and they all referenced a controller that was JMB3xx where xx was a two digit number. When I selected a driver it told me that jmicton already had those drivers on the setup CD this was not my slipstreamed version but the actual xp install disk and do I want to use those on the floppy dive anyway.

I was directed to the intel drivers by someone on the Asus forum and it worked like a charm. I’ve not really had much quality brain time to work on this.

It took a little research to make sure to get the right one. All useful but slightly conflicting information. I’m running hotfixes kmicron updates now. I extracted the files that makes a floppy for the F6 installation during setup and tried those. One of them said can’t remember which that AHCI just looks good on paper but in practice it cause more problems than what it’s was worth.
